Chat text:

00:16:42 Chris Pointon: Hi all. I’m just joining until 12.30 then need to leave for another call

00:21:16 Amanda Davis: Sounds a little like the Wikipaedia question

00:21:46 Sarah Battarbee: Yes absolutely.

00:22:28 Belinda Bawden: Hi Everyone, I think we need to be clear from the outset we're trying to tie everything together about Nature Recovery, Climate Change mitigation AND adaptation i.e. community resilience/sustainability.

i.e. not jut climate change and Net Zero, which has become politically contentious, but the wider sustainability/community resilience AND the nature recovery-biodiversity improvement strands/pillars/topics

00:23:27 Sarah Battarbee: Yes. Can share a list of climate actions which we hope to cover

00:27:50 Amanda Davis: I have a complete circle of Kirsten and Bill's who would look and move on, having considered credibility of the group pretty quickly. Unless they had first been directed and highly recommended to it by a trusted human with credibility.

00:27:51 Belinda Bawden: I fully agree with Sarah about the nature of most parish councils - inherently risk-aversive.

My pint about Climate Change is that it's a red flag to many people who will automatically shut their ears if that is the topic, so we need to show we're helping everyone on community resilience-adaptation; nature recovery and climate/environmental action at community levels.

00:28:39 Amanda Davis: Reacted to "Hi Everyone, I think..." with ā¤ļø

00:31:45 Sarah Battarbee: Yes!

00:38:55 Chris Pointon: I have to duck out now - will watch the rest on catch-up as I’m really interested in this discussion! Thanks for coming!

00:39:19 Sarah Battarbee: Bye Chris!

00:44:03 Andrew Maliphant: Perhaps we should think about what benefits people get from registering. And yes, we are planning a choice of individual / community group / local council to find a way in, while making some information and guidance and actions freely visible and available from the home page

00:44:17 Belinda Bawden: Reacted to "Perhaps we should th..." with šŸ‘

00:44:17 Liz Shayler (Banwell PC): Reacted to "Perhaps we should th..." with šŸ‘

00:44:28 Sarah Battarbee: Reacted to Perhaps we should th... with "šŸ‘"

00:45:23 Amanda Davis: Many of the people willing to interact are altruistic in desire to share so others can accelerate their enviro actions, and make connections

00:45:56 Liz Shayler (Banwell PC): Reacted to "Many of the people w..." with šŸ‘

00:46:07 Amanda Davis: ie, it may not be that they WANT something but want to GIVE something "for the cause"

00:46:08 Sarah Battarbee: Yes Amanda and we should capitalise on that

00:47:10 Amanda Davis: Careful.... are we aiming to be a peer reviewed journal?

00:47:39 Amanda Davis: I really don't think so. Again it is the Wiki question

00:49:59 Amanda Davis: Contributors shouldn't be restricted to PTCs, but the "projects, policies, actions etc" should RELATE to them and their communities

00:51:48 Sarah Battarbee: Reacted to Contributors shouldn... with "šŸ‘"

00:53:11 Amanda Davis: I want to contribute, ONCE, and to be able to offer to be contacted one to one. I'm not willing to offer one to many.

00:53:37 Garry Ford: Feedback: comments section for each How To Guide?

00:54:58 Andrew Maliphant: I agree we need some sort of Which guide to the advice available

00:56:11 Belinda Bawden: I just tried to register with Net Zero Go. It says if you have a .gov.uk email you can register but I cannot register as a county (unitary) councillor, only as an employee or consultant.

I'm on the Executive Advisory Panel for Dorset Council's Nature Recovery, Climate & Ecological Strategy but I'm still not able to register for Net Zero Go

00:56:50 Sarah Battarbee: I wonder if we offer a house early doors - do you just want the info or can you help us to build and share?

00:57:04 Belinda Bawden: Reacted to "I wonder if we offer..." with šŸ‘

00:57:16 Amanda Davis: Reacted to "I wonder if we offer..." with šŸ‘

00:58:01 Amanda Davis: Replying to "I wonder if we offer..."

with a redirect route should a WANTER find themselves subsequently becoming an OFFERER

00:58:07 Liz Shayler (Banwell PC): Reacted to "Feedback: comments s..." with šŸ‘

00:58:40 Liz Shayler (Banwell PC): Reacted to "I wonder if we offer..." with šŸ‘

00:58:57 Amanda Davis: The potential "TAKER" user would have to be made clear that they are subject to "BUYER BEWARE". If there was enough evidence to disprove a submission, we could have a panel to agree to remove them

01:00:25 Sarah Battarbee: The Wiki description is spot on isn't it - we need citations to keep the quality up.

01:04:58 Liz Shayler (Banwell PC): South Glos now has an environment officer who is helping town and parish councils who want to write an action plan.

01:07:10 Liz Shayler (Banwell PC): lcnap@framptoncotterell-pc.gov.uk Daisy Finniear.

01:08:03 Sarah Battarbee: Perhaps we can be a catalyst.... to speed things up.

01:08:19 tristram cary: I need to leave now. Thank you all

01:09:15 Belinda Bawden: Professor Tim Lenton's work on social Tipping Points is very interesting. What Graham says is what Tim says, which is you only need 25% people in a community to change for everything to tip over into majority acceptance.

Shall I invite him to speak to a banter session?

01:09:41 Sarah Battarbee: Reacted to Professor Tim Lenton... with "šŸ‘"

01:09:48 Belinda Bawden: cllrbelinda.bawden@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk

01:10:21 Amanda Davis: Amanda.davis@bourtononthewater-pc.gov.uk

01:10:39 Belinda Bawden: Jacky - could you please share the action plan and survey?

01:10:40 Sarah Battarbee: What Amanda has said about the focus on biodiversity rather than carbon reduction is very apposite

01:11:39 Jacky Lawrence: Reacted to "Jacky - could you pl..." with šŸ‘

01:12:18 Amanda Davis: Carbon reduction is better said as GHG reduction as carbon is but one! Methane is a quicker win, for example

01:12:47 Garry Ford: All sounds very positive, best practice how to guides would be a great resource. Thanks.

01:17:14 Amanda Davis: Replying to "https://www.naptonpa..."

just got a 404 error
