Chat text:

00:48:58 Rob Cheeseman-Weymouth: On the China point, their emissions are ‘exported’ emissions making products that we all buy in the ‘west’

00:50:05 lisa scott: Forecasting temperature rises to 2 deg Not acting on climate change is forecast to cost 6 x the cost of taking action

00:53:47 lisa scott: The sustainable building industry (futurebuild and institute for housing) are focusing of passive warming and cooling. extended eves to allow solar gain in winter but shading in summer

00:54:46 Graham Stoddart-Stones: One of the appealing things about heat pumps is that they are also cold pumps.......

00:55:00 lisa scott: and inclusion of solar glazing and glazing that has 'Vancian blind' collectors between the panes.

00:57:16 Wendy Thomson Stonehouse Town Council: Does anyone have a resilience plan they can share? I'm keen for my council to have one so would be good to have a template to base it on.

00:57:19 lisa scott: Replying to "One of the appealing..."

unfortunately that is air to air heat pumps what are not eligible for the £7500. Cooling vis air to water (that are being supported) are difficult to get cooling. I'm working on that!

00:58:44 Wendy Thomson Stonehouse Town Council: The plan would be for a Town Council

01:00:49 Graham Stoddart-Stones: To make our village hall an emergency centre, it was fitted with a large screen TV linked to the Internet so that those involved could stay in touch with the news (BBC, etc) and have communication channels as well as the landline.........

01:02:43 Stuart Withington: Reacted to "and inclusion of sol..." with 👍

01:07:16 Arfa Shahid: Met office is also launching future projected climate impacts for councils. It is coming up this summer. I am forgetting what they are calling it. It would tell in detail what 2 or 4 degree would look like for each area.

01:07:47 Jacky Lawrence: Reacted to "Met office is also l..." with 👍

01:10:16 Andrew Maliphant: office@greatcollaboration.uk

01:12:39 Graham Stoddart-Stones: Brilliant, Lisa - thank you

01:14:32 lisa scott: Reacted to "Brilliant, Lisa - th..." with 👍

01:15:36 lisa scott: Replying to "Met office is also l..."

may be too late to stop a planning appeal on flood plane opposite me, hearing stats 14 May :-(

01:16:00 lisa scott: Reacted to "To make our village ..." with ❤️

01:16:57 SARAH WHITELAW: Another EXTREMELY helpful session … many thanks indeed. Sarah

01:18:31 lisa scott: There are still deniers amongst us who put barriers up :-(

01:19:20 Kirsten Newble: Thank you very much for an interesting session and useful links/comments in the chat too.

01:20:29 Rob Cheeseman-Weymouth: BUT we can’t wait for local authorities and central government. We need to know what they think they will do in emergencies but ultimately communities need to prepare for impacts themselves with the limited resources they generally have.

01:20:41 Arfa Shahid: Reacted to "Thank you very muc..." with 👍

01:20:51 Graham Stoddart-Stones: Village Hall roofs can be great places for solar panels - great to tie them into a battery pack as well!

01:20:53 Rob Cheeseman-Weymouth: …and across shelter, food, water, energy, transport and cohesion

01:21:18 lisa scott: Givenergy are set up with a 'stay live' spur option batteries

01:22:42 lisa scott: We have also introduced cleaning of pavements and replacing difficult styles with self closing gates to increase pavement & footpath use

01:23:00 Wendy Thomson Stonehouse Town Council: Reacted to "We have also introdu..." with 👍

01:23:35 lisa scott: and Gatwick on my doorstep plan to expand - I've asked the Inspector for £5m if they do, to upgrage out off road routes, which they are taking very seriously

01:24:01 Eluned Lewis-Nichol: Thank you for an interesting presentation and discussion

01:25:44 Jacky Lawrence: thank you

01:25:53 lisa scott: Brilliant call as always! Thank you!!

01:26:17 Rob Cheeseman-Weymouth: Thanks all - great session

01:01:12 Will Holmes: Hi, Will from Weymouth Town Council here. Our plan is on our website . We're currently working through updating and tweaking this.
