Bioblitz

What is a Bioblitz and how does it fit in?

A Bioblitz is a short, intensive wildlife survey—often over a day or weekend—where volunteers and experts record as many species as possible in a defined area.

In Natural Capital Mapping, a Bioblitz:

  • Adds real species data to habitat maps

  • Builds community engagement and skills

  • Helps validate or enrich existing datasets

  • Creates a snapshot of local biodiversity that feeds into wider planning
