Open Planet joins the United Nations SDG Media Compact • News

Open Planet proudly announces its inclusion as a new member of the United Nations SDG Media Compact – a global alliance of media and entertainment companies committed to accelerating action on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

The partnership reflects Open Planet’s dedication to advancing the global agenda for sustainable development and environmental stewardship and follows its recent recognition as winner of the 2024 MIP SDG Innovation Award.

As a member of the UN SDG Media Compact, Open Planet joins a prestigious network of over 400 organisations – including its founding partner, Studio Silverback – leveraging media and communication platforms to promote awareness and mobilise action towards achieving the SDGsarrow-up-right by 2030.

Through this collaboration, Open Planet aims to amplify its mission in scaling-up communications on the SDGs, harnessing the power of visual storytelling to inspire change.

Open Planet brings to the SDG Media Compact its fast-growing, open-source library of world-class, scientifically accurate footage and data visualisations – free to use for educational and impact storytelling. A visionary resource for communicators worldwide, Open Planet is working to democratise high-quality content, disseminate accurate information, and foster partnerships that contribute to the realisation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
