## We are unlocking the transformative power of storytelling

**Our not-for-profit impact library empowers everyone, everywhere, with trusted, high-quality footage and data of our changing planet.**

Grounded in storytelling expertise, we were founded by award-winning filmmakers at [Open Planet Studios](https://www.openplanetstudios.uk/) – the team behind *Ocean with David Attenborough* and other landmark productions. In this decisive decade, we are on a mission to supercharge the impact of stories told, by democratising credible, world-class content of the major challenges and solutions.

Together with our global network of visionary collaborators, we are equipping educators, communicators and changemakers to tell stories that will shape new narratives and inspire action for our planet.

All content featured in our library is free to use for educational and impact storytelling, with a growing collection also available for [commercial use](/knowledgebase/commercial-clip-sales.md).

Open Planet is an independent Community Interest Company, also known as a social enterprise, with 501c3 charitable status in the United States.

### Support our mission

**Your contributions are the lifeline that allows us to keep providing trusted, high-quality content and storytelling resources to those who need them most.**

Open Planet relies on the generous support of partners and funders helping to deliver change at the scale and pace needed. In this critical decade, help ensure the Open Planet library remains free and accessible to all.
